In other words, enjoy the quiet and measured atmosphere of Paris!

Montmart

So, we go along the route. The first place to visit is the Montmart Hill. It is the highest point of the beautiful city. From here you can see the whole city, and even the Eiffel Tower. Montmart is considered one of the most expensive areas, since very famous personalities lived here, and the canvases of Van Gogh, the famous Picasso, Renoir and Lautrec convey the beauty of the narrow streets and the Sacre Coeur Basilica. To this day, you can meet street artists who can paint your portrait for 20 euros. Interestingly, the popularity of this Parisian area has increased dramatically with the release of the film "Amelie", many of the scenes of which were filmed here. The cafe in which the main character worked according to the plot actually exists and is called “Two Mills”.

Sacre Coeur Cathedral

In translation, Sacre-Coeur sounds like "holy heart". This snow-white palace attracts the attention of visitors with its sophistication and architecture. The style of the palace is somewhere between Roman and Byzantine culture. The highest dome of the basilica reaches up to 83 meters in height, and next to it there is a bell tower with the largest bell in all of Paris. If you approach the entrance to the palace, you will be greeted by statues of Joan of Arc and Louis IX. The basilica windows are decorated with multi-colored mosaics, and the image of Christ can be seen at the top of the Sacre Coeur. The construction of the cathedral began in 1875, but the work was completed only in 1914. The reason was the loose soil used for a long time in the old quarry. The project was designed by the architect Paul Abadi.

Tertre Square

It is located near the Sacre Coeur Cathedral. The area became famous for the restaurant "La Mare Catherine". The name of the institution was given in honor of a woman named Catherine Lemoine, who became its founder in 1793. The specialty of the restaurant was homemade food, it was distinguished by its sophistication and unforgettable taste.

Even during the occupation of Paris, Russian officers often dropped in at the La Mere Catherine restaurant. However, they were unhappy with the slow service. It is believed that the restaurants were named bistros, since it was the Russians who urged the waiters on with the words “Fast!”.

Place de Tertre is famous not only for the La Mare Catherine restaurant. Each building used to be the property of famous geniuses (Hemingway, Salvador Dali, Picasso, Fitzgerald and others). Every cafe in the square has seen famous artists and writers, and this attracts the attention of many tourists. The streets themselves are small, but the square is always noisy and crowded. It is here that you can hear the beautiful speech of the French and get to know the people of Paris better. The entire area is lined with numerous chairs from local restaurants, as well as works by local artists. By the way, in just half an hour you can get your portrait, skillfully drawn by any of the masters.

Not far from the square is the Saint-Pierre-de-Montmartre church - one of the oldest in all of Paris. It was erected back in the XII century on the site of another ancient monastery.

Further, many travel guides will advise you to look into the museums of Montmartre. For convenience, you can download free mobile applications that will help you navigate this huge city easier and faster. Fans of walking the old fashioned way should take a map with them, which will definitely come in handy during excursions. And don't forget to take your camera with you, the best sights are worth being photographed.

Salvador Dali Museum

Analogs of this museum are scattered all over the world, for example, in Berlin or Figueres, but the Parisian version is one of the most interesting. The entire collection of Salvador Dali's art is collected here. He visited many times, worked and even lived for some time in Paris. The exposition of the museum has more than three hundred masterpieces of the artist. The voice of the artist himself is used for the soundtrack. In addition to paintings, Dali created futuristic sculptures filled with philosophical meaning.

For many visitors to the museum, this fact is a real discovery. But being a person with a creative nature, Dali could not be content with painting alone. Espace Dali is the largest permanent exhibition of surreal sculptures in all of France. They help to better understand the eccentric Catalan and even to some extent reveal the secrets of his imagination. Dali also devoted his time to the creation of engravings, in which such famous characters as Don Quixote are depicted in new images. All this and many other works of the maestro can be seen by visiting the Salvador Dali Museum in Paris.

Montmartre Museum

The museum can be found in an old building called Rosimon. The art gallery of the museum presents the work of no less famous artists: Edgar Degas, Raoul Dufy, Auguste Renoir, Toulouse-Lautrec and Morse Utrillo. In the museum you can find not only painting, its halls have four expositions. It contains movie posters, theater posters, old photographs and personal items of 20th century aristocrats. This place attracts visitors not only due to the permanent exhibitions, but also exhibitions are often held here. Once in the museum, it is worth looking into the library, within the walls of which records of French chanson are kept.

The man who knew how to walk through walls

This unusual monument cannot be missed or overlooked. It was installed by the actor Jean Mare, who was inspired by the work of his friend, the writer Marcel Aimé. The sculpture was named after one of his works. The plot tells about a hero who had an unusual ability - he goes through any walls. This is how the idea of creating this monument appeared: a bronze man literally emerges from the stone wall. His left hand from the numerous handshakes of tourists is polished to a shine.

Wall of love

France is so full of romance. The Wall of Love is no exception. It was designed by two artists: Frederic Baron and Clare Quito. How important words of love are, and to remind people of this, the Baron and Quito covered the wall with the words "I love you" in all languages of the world. To implement this original idea, the artists had to work hard. To write "I love you" 311 times in different languages, they interviewed friends and acquaintances, and also wrote letters to foreign embassies around the world. Today, the wall of love is very popular, and the marriage proposal near it has become a tradition. There is a sign: those who have not yet met their love must find recognition in their native language, put their hand to the inscription and make a wish. It is believed that it must be fulfilled.

Moulin rouge

To get to know the real Paris and the culture of France, you should definitely visit the famous Moulin Rouge cabaret. This building has become a symbol of passion, love and creativity. In the music hall, you can find paintings by artists who never became famous. Its opening took place in 1889 on the eve of the World Exhibition. The location for the creation of a new entertainment establishment in the Montmartre area was not chosen by chance. One of the founders, Joseph Oller, wanted the Moulin Rouge cabaret to be as far away as possible from another already successful place at that time - the Elise Montmartre cabaret.

"Moulin Rouge" quickly gained popularity not only among the middle class, but also many aristocrats, artists and even royalty. It is known that the Prince of Wales himself loved to spend his evenings here. The main "highlight" of the cabaret was the famous cancan dance, which conquered with its bold and for many Parisians obscene elements. In addition to spectacular splits and energetic kicks, a striptease was performed here for the first time on stage.

The Moulin Rouge has been popular for over 125 years. Tourists are attracted not only by dancers, unforgettable costume shows, bright, sparkling decorations, fiery music and the best choreography are provided to the audience. The halls are not only crowded with men, even women have something to look at.

Museum of Erotica

Not far from the Moulin Rouge is the Museum of Erotica. Its doors opened to visitors back in 1997. Here you can find objects of art that are dedicated to one theme - erotica. The hall of the museum is full of paintings, statues, photographs not only of French figures, the exhibits were brought from Africa, Japan and India.

Use the services of kiwitaxi and at the airport, at the specified time, the driver will be waiting for you, help with the luggage and promptly take you to the hotel. Several car classes are available - from economy to Minibus with 19 seats. The price is fixed and does not depend on the number of passengers and the address within Paris. A taxi from / to the airport is a convenient and comfortable way to get to your destination.
